Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. She is most well-known for playing Emily Fields in Freeform's Pretty Little Liars. After having a great time in modeling and dancing, she wanted to get into acting and took acting lessons in Toronto. Mitchell landed guest roles and commercials prior to getting the major break. The critics and the fans alike were impressed with her performance. She went on to make her mark in the world of big screen with films such as Dreamland Mother's Dayand The possession of Hannah Grace. Her part in the psychological thriller series "You" led to more fame. In addition to performing, she also wrote. With Michaela Blaney, she co-wrote an adult book titled Bliss. The parents of Shay Mitchell, Mark Mitchell (born April 10 in 1988) as well as Precious Garcia, raised her within Ontario Canada. Shay Mitchell is Filipina descent, and her father is of Scottish/Irish heritage. Mitchell is also the relative to Lea Salonga - a famous actor and musical theatre performer. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary School before moving onto West Vancouver Secondary. In the final stages of her teenage years she began modeling for different companies across the globe. She travelled to Barcelona, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, ultimately returning home in Toronto and studying acting.
